      Sherry,
      Thank you for your comments!
On this website I have several resources. With the tabs at the top of the page, you can see my blog page. Also, if you click on the “Live Talks” tab you can see some of the talks I’ve given in the past. So far, I’ve only included links to handouts for two of the talks but I can put links to the outlines to all of my talks if you would want that. Just let me know.

Hopefully this is helpful. If you have other questions let me know!

      God bless,
      Allison

    Allison,
I also just watched your video on hell, via the Renewal Ministries facebook post. Wow, your story sounds so familiar and similar to mine. And what a treasure to find your site, along with so many wonderful articles and resources. Thank you and God Bless you for your work.
Can I ask a question? I believe and understand all that you shared about hell and the reality of it. But how do I reconcile it to what is going on in the world around me…we have to take this life very seriously, and it seems so many do not? I worry for souls, first and foremost, mine.. and for the people in my life that don’t worry about hell. Thanks for any advice/thoughts.
    God Bless,
    Dana

      Dana –
      Thank you for reaching out.
I am glad you enjoyed the show I did with Renewal Ministries on hell. [I posted a link to this episode as well as the show I did on heaven. It is on my website under the tab that says “Live Talks”]

      As to your question:
Yes, hell is very real. Jesus preached about it on numerous occasions because he wanted to warn us and make sure we knew it was possible for us all.
The good news is that because of Christ, grace is freely given by God to us all. Grace is a supernatural power God infuses into our soul first through baptism and then through the other sacraments. And grace enables us to have faith, to love and to be obedient to God. It is by grace that we are enabled to enter heaven.
God gives all of us sufficient grace to be saved but, tragically, many people reject God and his grace.

How many will choose an eternity separated from God in hell? The Bible tells us it will be many. Jesus said that the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life and few find it. The gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction and those who enter by it are many. [Matthew 7:13-14]

What can we do for those who reject God, are indifferent to God, are careless about how they live?
We do need to pray constantly and fervently for the salvation of souls – first our own and then for others.
We do need to ensure we are being converted more deeply to Christ in our own lives daily. We need to be striving for holiness. We need to do what we can to receive increases in God’s grace – by receiving the Sacraments frequently, through prayer, through charity, through penance.
Then we go out into the world each day and try to be the face of Christ to others by being faithful witnesses. We must show by our life the joy, happiness, peace and love that comes with knowing Christ. And then we need to share our faith when God sends us these opportunities.

And specifically when it comes to the topic of hell, we must always share the truth with charity but we need to evangelize. There are different ways to do this. I always advise people to first start in your circle of influence: spouse, children, friends, family, co-workers. Be a good teacher of the faith when opportunities arise. You have to pray and be prudent as to when to discuss religion BUT if you ask, God will give you the words and the courage when you need it.
If you feel called, you can also consider participating in specific ministries that exist that focus on spreading the gospel. You can be a catechist for a parish. There are ministries internationally such as Renewal Ministries and St. Paul Street Evangelization that actively evangelize. Or you can join ministries through your parish that interest you and form relationships with people and discover ways of sharing the faith through that. [I know some who help with the food pantry and find ways to discuss Jesus with guests.]

And you always continue to evangelize by living an authentic Christian life because, when you live with God central to your life, people will be moved by your joy and by the fact you live for something more glorious than anything we can find in this life. Do what you can to show people by how you life your life that you have found the pearl of great price and the treasure in the field the Gospels speak of. And having found this treasure, you will want to live according to God’s plan because you love God and you have a healthy fear of being separated from him for eternity. And then always be prepared because living in this radical way, people are bound to ask, “What is the reason for your hope? For your joy?” as we see in 1 Peter 3:15. And then you can be prepared to share the reality of hell but also the glorious hope we have for heaven because of Jesus Christ.

      Hope this helps!

      God bless,
      Allison

    Sherry,
I came across this site after watching your video on hell. I am so thankful that I saw the link for it via the Renewal Ministries facebook page. Your story sounds a lot like mine.. and now I am also on fire to learn all I can and grow in my faith. This will be a wonderful resource.. thank you!!
I do have a question about hell… I was wondering if I could get your thoughts. How does one reconcile the information and teachings presented with the reality of hell, and the condition we see in our world today? Even though we do not know the state of others’ souls, there is so much indifference and sin… wouldn’t it seem like many souls will and are lost? I myself have to fight sin and indifference, so this question is out of holy fear for my soul and my loved ones. Thank you for any thoughts…
    God Bless, Dana
